My first experience of Lichfield was with my friend Olivia that I went travelling with years ago and her inspiring Mother who has sadly since passed away.  They lived in Alrewas, a pretty village a few miles away from Lichfield and took me to see the cathedral and the surrounding buildings on cathedral close and I was instantly in love.

Here is what I did on a day trip to Lichfield in the summer with my sister and 4 year old Neice.

Our first stop was the Arboretum at Alrewas.
